The Symbol Explorer tool provides a hierarchical list of all of the symbols that the user has permission for. This information is displayed in a tree view through which user can navigate by expanding and contracting the branches similar to the Windows Explorer functionality.
The Symbol Explorer allows symbols to be selected one at a time or as a group by holding down the Ctrl key. In addition an entire branch so long as it is the lowest branch on the tree (i.e., a branch that contains only leaves) can be select as well.
The Hierarchy is organized by data provider. The user will be able to view both data providers for which they have permissions (standard) as well as all data providers for which GlobalView manages data redistribution. Under each exchange, the organization differs depending on the type of exchange.

Branches that have been expanded will be maintained within a MarketView session (i.e., until the user logs out).
